With the aim of highlighting the connection between research and entrepreneurship and boosting innovation in regional development, the Region of Thessaly is organising an event to present collaborative research and innovation projects funded within the framework of the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3).
The event will take place on Friday 12 June 2026, at the 12:00 at midday, in the Diachronic Museum of Larissa, bringing together representatives from businesses, research organisations and local government in a joint dialogue on the development prospects of Thessaly through innovation.
Within the framework of the action, a total of have been funded 36 partnerships between businesses and research organisations, which aim at the creation of new products, services and technological applications with a direct impact on the local economy. Of these, four characteristic cases will be presented in detail during the event, highlighting the way in which cooperation between the productive and research sectors can create added value and competitive advantages.
The initiative is part of the Region of Thessaly's strategy for strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development, utilising European and national resources. At the same time, it highlights the importance of interconnection of scientific knowledge with the real needs of the market, creating new opportunities for the economy and employment.
With the central message «From research to entrepreneurship – Together, we create new opportunities for our region, the event aims to be a benchmark for cooperation, know-how transfer and the exploitation of innovation as a driver of growth for the Thessaly of tomorrow.
