RIS3 Thessaly had a significant presence at the international panel «Beyond Borders», which took place on 31 October at the JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa, as part of a broader two-day event featuring participants from South-Eastern Europe.
The speakers highlighted:
- The importance of cooperation between businesses, research institutions and the administration
- The possibilities for utilising European tools for interregional projects
- The role of RIS3 as a strategic framework for targeted funding
They also underlined that RIS3 Thessaly acts as a «compass» for targeted and effective funding, enabling Thessaly and neighbouring regions to participate more actively in European innovation ecosystems and attract investments that generate sustainable growth.
Particular value was placed on the networking between startups, investors and innovation stakeholders, as well as the exchange of experiences for the development of partnerships at a European level.
Particular emphasis was given to the RIS3 strategy of the Region of Thessaly, with Messrs Kouretas and Tolias highlighting:
- the importance of cooperation between businesses, research institutions and administration,
- the potential for utilising EU tools to enhance interregional projects that align with RIS3 priorities.
